Look after youPosted by Fred (Manila, Philippines) on 4 November 2009 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. I'm a little hesitant to post this. It feels like a lame attempt to post a moon over a city because the moon's too small. If for the composition, sorry another mistake. I shot this at the viewing deck in our condo and I had no other choice of composition as there's railings on the wall so this is the only shot I could get. I hope you guys still like it. Comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. :) Remember.. you're a wreck, Visit me here:

k@ from Paris, FranceHey please, if you criticize it whole, what can we add ?? :) 4 Nov 2009 5:50am @k@: Hahaha! I'm sorry karine if it came out that way. I guess I was being too defensive. Thanks for the kind words! I think its slowly sinking into me now; the beauty of the picture I mean. :) MARIANA from Waterloo, Canadawow... I cannot get how you were able to have such a clear, sharp cityscape with such an awesome perspective . Outstanding work here ! 4 Nov 2009 2:18pm @MARIANA: I guess this is where I can say that I've truly found my 55-200mm lens' sweet spot. It's sharpest when in the 55-150mm range at f/11. Thanks for your sweet comments Mariana. :) MARIANA from Waterloo, Canadaoh, and plus - that lovely, smiling moon is there .. just fantastic ;)) 4 Nov 2009 2:18pm shoti from Everywhere in the, Philippinesnakng cityscape yan o. umaga ba to brad? :D dj.tigersprout from New York City, United StatesFAAABULOUS detail and composition! so much to look at -- i too am amazed at the amount of crystal clear detail! yes -- it is very sharp, almost unreal -- but it gives a beautiful futuristic and stylized effect!! 5 stars!!! (as to your concerns -- you could always enlarge the moon in photoshop?) or take another shot of the moon at a greater zoom and overlay? that would give some amazing and otherworldly effects too! don't be afriad to play -- we are here to delight and wonder!!! bravo!!! :) 4 Nov 2009 7:13pm @dj.tigersprout: Yes i've considered doing that. I have a night shot of the moon which would really look good here. I might do that some other time when I feel like making manipulated shot. For this, i wanted to show you guys what my eyes can see. Maybe my hesitation is because of the pictures you see here. I only envy those landscapes/cityscapes that have moons incorporated in them the size of a lollipop. Unfortunately, in the country where I'm in, I know of no places where I can get such shots. Thank you for your inputs jaycee! Its always helpful to hear suggestions and comments from good artists. :) `Paul from Minneapolis, United States. .so much detail in this shot, my eye scans every inch of it and i still seem to see details that i missed -- i think that's a sign of a serioulsy good photo. ... a mesmerizing photograph. the sharpness in spot on, with almost a hint of HDR. .. honestly, my eyes were so transfixed on the cityscape that i completely missed the moon.... as you your own criticisms, i think we're our own worst critic.. this shot is MAGIC .... by the way, where is this? Makati? 4 Nov 2009 9:04pm @`Paul: Thanks Paul. True what you say about ourselves being our own worst critic. Like I said, I was hesitant at first to post this photo. It was almost like a snap when I posted this. Almost like a for-the-sake-of post. But then when I read comments from you guys, it slowly sank into me that hey, this might be something. As for the location, yes this is Makati. The lower part of the photo is where Makati and Manila meets. Obviously, the mid part where the tall buildings are, thats the Makati Central Business District. Thanks again Paul for dropping by! Curly from South Shields, United KingdomFabulous sharpness and detail in the cityscape, I thought it was a b&w HDR too. The moon looks quite happy as it is up there. 4 Nov 2009 10:46pm lare from kangasala, FinlandFAboulos, stunnig and just in the b/w format. The moon on the sky is magical...composition overall perfect, no doubt. BRAVOO........ 19 Dec 2009 12:06pm |
